Video commentary:I have checked out the video interview with the chiropractor Dr Goldberg. I agree with his view on holistic healthcare which may include "chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy, diet, life-style, exercise, massage and nutrition", as mentioned in his website too. This would take care of not only the symptoms but also the root causes of symptoms. I learnt that modern or western medicine are allopathic which treats only the symptoms and rarely the root causes, and western medicine usually has side effects too. So, yes our body is designed for self healing and it is usually a matter of listening to our body and do our own research, like what the video says, and then make the necessary changes in our diet and lifestyle (such as eating more dark green leafys, avoiding foods that trigger the symptoms, exercising and relieving stress through yoga, for example).

Total Body Modification
Much of traditional care fails to find the underlying root cause of health problems. For example, you are what you eat. However you are what you digest, assimilate and eliminate. You have to do all four. TBM which stands for Total Body Modification is a technique we use in our office that is used to find the organ or area of the body that is stressed and to also correct the problem by restoring balance to the brain and spinal cord-The Central Nervous System. What this does is it first finds and then corrects Functional Physiology, which is how the body works. It allows the power that made the body to correct the body and to allow the body to heal, as the body will heal itself, if given the opportunity to do it.
The body has an inherent ability of self-regeneration. Life heals! Total Body Modification (TBM) demonstrates that if the right thing is done to the right body at the right time and the right way--miracles happen!
We now know that the brain works similar to a computer. Sensory fibers carry messages to the brain where they are processed, like a computer, and the brain, in turn, tells the body what to do.
Total Body Modification Research
Research has proven that under sufficient stress, the neurons in the brain centers, which are controlling the stressed organ or body part, essentially depolarize. this is like blowing a fuse on an electrical circuit. The message gets to the brain but fails to return. The results are that the brain (computer) loses effective control over the afflicted organ or body part. This leaves the organ or body part running out of control. Using tried and tested reflex points and muscle testing, the TBM practitioner can find the problem. The practitioner will then stimulate a specific area or areas of the spine in a specific manner in an attempt to stimulate the neurons in the brain to repolarize (fix the fuse) and allow the brain to regain control of the body and guide it back to health. Since a correctly functioning nervous system is a major requirement for health, it follows that Total Body Modification can have a part to play in almost any problem and to uncover and correct the road blocks to recovery.
Using Total Body Modification techniques can realign the functions and interactions within the body and systems. We can reprogram your body's internal computer by a combination of muscle testing, touching specific points on the body corresponding to various body parts or systems, making specific corrections at specific levels of the spine in specific orders. Sometimes SOT blocks, an instrument (Activator), or the hand itself are used to make the specific corrections.

I was also checking out some websites on Total Body Modification earlier, and I learnt that Dr Mercola, a well-known natural health practitioner, came to realise the value of this healing technique, as described in his article "Next to prayer the most powerful healing technique I am aware of".
http://www.mercola.com/article/applied_psycho_neurobiology/muscle_testing.htm He shared that this technique uses energy reflex points to rebalance the automatic nervous system. He also shared that when he performed an autonomic response testing on a patient, he found out the problem within 2 minutes, which was the person's food allergy to oatmeal. He wrote:
"I really don't understand how this works, but I can offer some suggestions as to speculated mechanisms. The technique's effectiveness seems to be related to using energy reflex points, somewhat similar to acupressure, at specific body sites to neutralize the energy imbalance in the body. There also seems to be a profound normalization that rebalances the autonomic nervous system.
The autonomic nervous system is frequently referred to as the master regulator of metabolism because in controls all the involuntary activities of the body, all the functions of the body that are not under your conscious control. This would include functions like your heart rate, digesting, breathing, tissue repair and rebuilding, regulation of your body temperature, immune system and countless other functions. Once the autonomic nervous system is rebalanced and improved, many physical aspects of disease have a corresponding improvement"
The following website has some encouraging information, saying that TBM can treat certain conditions, such as hiatal hernia (in a couple of minutes).
http://www.positivehealth.com/article/allergies/total-body-modification-for-the-treatment-of-allergies
"TBM works amazingly well not only with allergies but also in treating the side-effects of all medications. Hiatal hernias can be treated in a couple of minutes. One patient had the hiatal hernia correction but still went for the scheduled endoscopy only to be told by the bewildered doctor that it looked like she had had a hiatal hernia but it had somehow cleared up. Other diseases that have been successfully treated with TBM include chronic fatigue, frequent colds and flus, viruses (e.g. Herpes, Epstein Barr), Lupus, infertility, arthritis, joint and back problems, gallstones, Crohn's disease, diabetes and glaucoma."
